This is our biggest fundraiser for our delegates to Terra Madre and most popular event. We will all gather in the valley at the Mock Chew’s beautiful property and set up camp. We will come together, share an amazing Slow meal, meet our delegates and hear from Kulia Kauhi Tolentino. Kulia has family ties to the valley and has made it her life’s work to restore old lo’i (taro patches) with the help of her students. She has an inspiring story and we are blessed that she will be joining us to share her knowledge.
This is an opportunity to unplug for a couple of days, get quiet and relaxed, and experience the special power and rich history of Waipio.
We encourage you to bring ukelele or guitar for kanikapila and stuff for breakfast on Sunday where we spend a lazy morning cooking and eating together.
So save the date, August 18th and RSVP to SlowFoodHawaii@gmail.com.
Slow Food Members cost is $100, nonmembers $125. We have a paypal button set up on our website, or you can mail a check to:
