Slow Food Hawai’i helped create the Mala’ai Culinary Garden at Waimea Middle School, and continues to support this wonderful garden program. On June 12, on a spectacular Waimea day, SFH served lunch to 40 participants in the Ku ‘Aina Pa program at Mala’ai. The spread included vegetarian lasagne, Kohala beef, Mala’ai green salad, curried kabocha soup, tropical fruit salad, fresh wholegrain bread, and sweets for dessert.
